Lytham Studio was founded by me, Douglas Wilkie, in 2023. I create original, bespoke, handcrafted furniture, designed to meet each client’s unique and specific needs.

Before establishing Lytham Studio, I worked and studied as a civil engineer for over ten years. While engineering allowed me to develop strong practical and problem-solving skills, I was drawn toward a more creative and materially focused way of working.

I retrained at the world-renowned Chippendale International School of Furniture and now operate Lytham Studio from my own workshop in Lauder, in the Scottish Borders.

Through Lytham Studio, my goal is to craft furniture made to last a lifetime, with a clear focus on quality, longevity, and thoughtful design.
