The term creepie comes from Scots usage influenced by Gaelic, reflecting the idea of crouching or keeping close to the ground. Simple and durable, the creepie is a well-known example of everyday Scottish folk furniture.
This commission was to made to be gifted to a newly born child. To have a stool that would be with them throughout their childhood but also be able to last until they could pass it down to their kids. The book matched top shows off the beauty of figured local wood, the shaped sides and heart shaped cut out at a tactile element.
